Nina Deshow was born in Ukraine but grew up in war-torn Germany. She lived in refugee camps and eventually emigrated to the United States. She later married Alexander Deshow and settled in Piscataway Township, New Jersey. She was an accomplished seamstress and a voracious reader. Her passion was finding natural cures for people who fell ill.
