The theme jeopardy is a popular TV show theme. It was first played in January, February, and March 1983. In 1984, the theme switched to a more electronic sound. In 2001, the theme was updated with the same sounds. It uses a synthesized orchestra and electric guitars.
The game board was originally behind a curtain and clues were printed on clue cards. Later, clue cards were replaced by flipping panels that showed a clue and its value on one side. The curtain was replaced by double-slide panels. The board was redesigned to feature thirty television screens, one for each clue. The original screens were replaced with larger ones. A projection video wall was added to the board in 2006.
