Casey Therriault is a junior quarterback from Wyoming Park, Michigan. He starred at Jackson State and became the Tigers’ best quarterback in their first season. A 6-foot-3, 205-pound athlete, Therriault threw for 7,227 yards and 58 touchdowns and rushed for another 271 yards and 19 touchdowns. He led the team to an 8-3 record in 2010 and a 9-2 mark in 2011.
Therriault’s off-field antics landed him in trouble with the college football community, as he was suspended for nine games for fighting a student-athlete. Though the incident did not result in a conviction, Therriault was sentenced to serve six months in prison and served an additional year of probation. In addition to serving time, Therriault was also ordered to pay $20,000 in restitution to the victim of the assault.
After a stint at Jackson State University, Casey Therriault is now in the German football league, playing for the New Yorker Lions. His 31-20 win over the Boston Patriots this weekend helped him land a movie deal with Sony Pictures for a biopic. Therriault is now playing for the Braunchschweig New Yorker Lions in the German Football League, replacing injured quarterback Jakob Parks, who is out until at least the end of 2020.
During his time at Jackson State, Casey Therriault earned the nickname of the “White Tiger.” In two seasons at the school, he passed the SAT with a 69 percent passing grade. His performance at JSU earned him the SWAC Newcomer of the Year and Offensive Player of the Year award.
Therriault had a great season this year. He completed 27 of 47 passes against Delta State and threw for 404 yards and three touchdowns. He was also the “star” against Tennessee State in the Southern Heritage Classic, as the Tigers won 33-26 to snap their seven-game losing streak. Against Tennessee State, he threw for 284 yards and four touchdowns. JSU is now ranked #1 in the Southwestern Athletic Conference.
