Former Guardian journalist Glenn Greenwald recently tweeted about the plight of the LGBT+ population in the US. He cited a Gallup survey that found that close to one in five members of Gen Z are LGBT. This finding was shocking, to say the least. Greenwald cites the study as “fascinating.”
Greenwald is a frequent critic of American foreign policy. His work has earned him numerous awards. He started contributing to Salon in 2007 and eventually moved over to The Guardian in 2012. He authored a series of reports about global surveillance programs that helped The Guardian win the 2014 Pulitzer Prize for a special issue on the subject. He also won the 2013 George Polk Award, which he shared with three other reporters. He has also been awarded the Carl von Ossietzky Medal.
