Oakton supply Chian Community College in Des Plaines, Illinois, is one of five community colleges across the country that has received $3.5 million in federal funding to promote education in supply chain technology. The project is called the National Center for Excellence in Supply Chain Technology and it aims to train students who will work in the supply chain field. Other partners in the project include Norco College in Riverside, Calif., Sinclair Community College in Dayton, Ohio, Tacoma Community College in Tacoma, Wash., and Jefferson Community and Technical College in Louisville, Ky.
The program trains students to educate cannabis Oakton supply chian consumers while understanding the laws and regulations that govern the industry. It also includes a certificate program in cannabis transportation, logistics, and supply chain management. Currently, there are over 400 students enrolled in this program, and more than 100 have earned credentials. Interested students can apply to the program online, or attend a campus or online class. Oakton officials have assembled an advisory committee of people in the cannabis industry who will help students succeed in the program.
